And our International Music of the Month suggestion is the Sufi-infused CD, At the Feet of the Beloved by the Pakistani singing group Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali.

Recipe of the Month

Our Recipe of the Month is for Czech Smažený Sýr with Tatar Sauce, an adored comfort food of relatively recent origin. It pairs very well with the Czech Republic's most favorite brew, Pilsner Urquell!

CD of the Month

Our International Music of the Month selection is for At the Feet of the Beloved by Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali

Qawwali is a form of Sufi Islamic devotional singing by a group of male musicians—called qawwals who sing Sufi Islamic devotional songs. Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali is a Pakistani Qawwali group led by Rizwan and Muazzam, the nephews of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Book of the Month

Our Book of the Month recommendation is for Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar. The novel is an intergalactic odyssey of love, ambition, and self-discovery.

Orphaned as a boy, raised in the Czech countryside by his doting grandparents, Jakub Procházka has risen from small-time scientist to become the country's first astronaut. When a dangerous solo mission to Venus offers him both the chance at heroism he's dreamt of, and a way to atone for his father's sins as a Communist informer, he ventures boldly into the vast unknown.
